Tidings from the West
Fraternal Greetings Brethren all. As we resume work for the remainder of the Masonic Year let us remain diligent and faithful to our calling. There are forces fighting against us, not from outside with sword and persecution but from within. Maybe someone snubbed you at a social gathering, maybe you weren't placed in a position of leadership you felt you deserved, maybe a joking remark was perceived the wrong way and your next thought was "well, if he acts that way, I'll show him, I won't come to lodge anymore". Who wins in these situations? No one does.
We all come from different backgrounds, generations, education and parts of the country. Sometimes the simplest word or phrase causes a clash and a misunderstanding. As we enter this busy last part of the year with degree work and functions like our upcoming picnic on the 29th, let us be especially sensitive to the feelings of the brethren around us. If you have anything against any brother around you, let this be a season of making it right. We cannot move ahead unless all agree. Let this upcoming month be one of forgiveness. Don't wait for your brother to make the first move. Peace and harmony be our aim.
