Greetings from the East
Greetings from the East Brethren,
Welcome back Brethren! This summer has been quite a summer indeed. Did anyone see the sun? Smoke all over the valley! Anyway, Summer’s end nears and Fall is around the corner. I hope that you did enjoy the past two months and that you are refreshed and full of energy. We are going to be very busy for the remainder of the calendar year. New Entered Apprentices will be initiated, we will pass a few to the Fellowcraft degree and finally we will raise some Brothers to the Master Mason degree. Sounds familiar?
Again this year and as in the past years, we will honor our Past Masters! This year, the Past Masters’ dinner is scheduled for the 24th of October. I will provide more detail soon but mark your calendar for a great evening of friendship and fellowship to celebrate those who preceded and guided us toward the light.
I found the following from a brother of Kona Lodge in Hawaii inspiring and so true.
“The concept of light runs through Freemasonry like a golden thread that gives it both strength and beauty. The teachings of Masonry are multicolored rays issuing from a source of light, which is the accumulated wisdom of the ages... All Masons everywhere should always rededicate themselves to the production of better men, the preservation of dignity, and the constant adherence to those virtues that help to elevate us and our brothers to a deserved kinship with the eternal. Let us give Freemasonry an opportunity to work in us and through us for the betterment of our lodge and our community.”
