Tidings from the East

Greetings from the East Brethren.

April has been a busy month, and in typical Utah form the weather has been interesting to say the least. On April 9th we had the sorrowful task to bid farewell to our Brother and Past Master of Unity Lodge, John Holmes. He will be missed by us all, but as we are reminded by the evergreen our hope is that his soul will flourish in eternal spring. Please keep his family in your prayers.  The Scottish Rite Reunion was held the 21st through the 23rd. The participating in, and observing of the degrees is always an inspiring and educational experience. I always seem to learn something new every time I watch them.  We will be joining forces with Golden Spike Lodge #6 on the 18th of May and performing a double EA degree. We will combine Officer duties for the candidates between the our two Lodges. I hope to see you all on the sidelines.

Fraternally,

Denny K. Wilcox
Worshipful Master

LIGHT

by Evart Emerson Overton

The pathway of man through the ages wends
From the darkness that enveloped the past
Whose brilliance shall eternally last.
Obscured at times by the fog and mists
Yet onward he goes, ever seeking the truth
That truth that he knows will heal.
The bruised and the broken, the sorrowful, sad,
Who seem lost in the mist in the way,
Feel the touch of that unseen gentle hand
His guiding star that ray of hope
Of forces allegedly real
And reverently kneel to pray.

The light of truth floods the thought of the man
For he has found that the source of that light is God
And he vows from it never to part.
And joy wells up in his heart,
