From The East
Brethren, I hope this newsletter finds you in good health, I don’t know about the rest of you but I’m ready for Spring to go away and Summer to show up, of course it will probably only be here a few weeks and we’ll be crying about how hot it is and praying for the cooler temperatures of Fall.
I would sincerely like to thank all who attended the Grand Lodge Visitation on the 6th of April and our last EA degree, 30 members plus visitors for our visitation and 29 plus visitors for the EA. It did my heart good to see all the brothers on the sidelines. I would also like to give my officers a hearty thank you as well for both occasions; you did good, Brother Tim, excellent job in the East for the EA. Our Grand Lodge officers did a fantastic job on the visitation as well, I really like the way Most Worshipful Brother Liley conducts his visitations, well done Grand Master.
I will be bringing up a couple of things in our business meeting on the 4th but will give you a heads-up so you can be thinking about them, I would like to plan a Past Masters dinner and would like to talk about a time and place, I would also like to discuss what we want to do for the widows this year, lunch, dinner, visit, etc., I want to do something but it’s been brought up that not all of our widows can come to the luncheons and maybe a visit would be nice, bring your ideas, I want to hear them all, within reason that is.
So far May doesn’t look busy for degree work, I’m scheduling an FC degree for the 18th and practices for the 11th and 25th. Coaches, you need to let me know how your work is coming along so I can put the degree on the trestle board, remember, if you want to get it done before we go dark you need to get with it, although if need be we can do a degree when we’re dark, as long as we can put a crew together.
I look forward to seeing everyone at business meeting on the 4th, until then be safe and God bless.
Thomas E. Caygle Sr., Worshipful Master
