Tidings from the East

Greetings from the East Brethren.

I think that I can see a glimmer of spring time in the weather.  It will be a welcome arrival, just as all the wonderful seasons are every year.
Our month of March will have an important event.  The annual Grand Master’s visitation.  This year the Grand Masters visitation will include two other Lodges; Golden Spike #6, and Gateway #29.  The visitation will be held on March 4th at Gateway Lodge in Clearfield.  All Unity Lodge members and their Ladies are encouraged to attend.  The Lodge will open at 6:00 pm, retire to the lower floor for a buffet style dinner catered by Golden Spikes' Worshipful Master Tony Lella and his restaurant, Pranzo Italliano.  After dinner we will call the Lodge back to labor to receive the Grand Master and his Grand Lodge Officers.  During this time there will be an activity for the Ladies in the banquet hall.  I hope that you can all attend.
We will be putting on a Fellow Craft Degree on March 23rd.  Please join us for this beautiful ritual and to support our candidate.  I hope you will enjoy the following poem.

Denny K. Wilcox
Worshipful Master

by Betty Langenberg

Brother, is there something between you and me?
The east is glowing in a golden candlelight,
we listen to Mozart, and think in different languages,
Yet, I understand you, as you understand me.

I don't know your place in your society,
I do not know to which God you daily pray,
There must be thousands things that separates you and I.
Brother, is there something between you and me?

You make the sign and know the word.
I know you now,
although you live under a different sky;
You are my brother, seated next to me.

Brother is there something between you and me?
Between us, in the chain, the secret lives.
I heard your heart, as you heard mine,
and from countless miles, we recognize.
