From the East
As we continue on toward the end of this Masonic year I want to encourage all the brethren to continue coming to the business meetings as your presence is important. I see too many newly raised Master Masons who then vanish as soon as they are raised. Maybe you feel that your presence is not that important or that you expected more. This month we are starting a light dinner with soup and ice cream before the meeting starting at 6:30 P.M. Please come as you can use this time to bring your ideas to the table. Again, if you need a ride please contact me.
I would like to see the sidelines filled not only for our business meeting but for the degrees as well. Don't let the cares and busyness of the world detract from the fellowship you are missing if you don't come. If you feel that you have received all the light that you can receive and that the meetings are boring then ask me to help you find a path that you can find more Masonic knowledge. Let us shine our light to a confused world that needs direction. Let us be strengthened by the brotherly love and friendship we get from meeting together.
As my Masonic year comes to a close I want to thank everyone for their participation, guidance, and help that has made this year one of the most wonderful experiences of my life. The advice from many Past Masters and beloved brothers has been timely and most welcome. I look forward to the coming year with Worshipful Master elect Greg Hamilton and pledge to remain very active from the sidelines as I look on my time as Worshipful Master as one of a beginning of my Masonic career.
I will remember this time as one of personal growth and learning to enable me to continue to contribute to the lodge where I am needed. Much work needs to be done. Not only with men needed to fill parts for degree work but working with our youth groups. Masonic education needs to be emphasized to open opportunities for new and seasoned brothers to explore the meanings behind the lessons to be more able to apply them so they can make themselves better men.
Let us do our part to find those who have not been attending lodge and encourage them to attend. Let’s get everyone involved to keep the attendance up and continue to apply the trowel of brotherly love to avoid personal grievances which sometimes creep in due to misunderstandings and miscommunication.
Thank you for a wonderful year, God bless and keep you and your families safe this holiday season.
Benjamin Johnson, Worshipful Master
