Tidings from the East

Greetings from the East Brethren.

Our work continues Brethren, and we had a successful FC degree on the 23rd of March.  There have been a number of men who have contacted me directly, or through other Brethren of Unity Lodge who are interested in becoming a Mason.  This is very encouraging to me.  Especially the young men, two of whom I met and seemed enthusiastic to learn about Freemasonry.

At our Grand Lodge visitation I spoke of teaching our initiates regarding Masonic Etiquette.  We have begun this endeavor with two of our Past Masters providing some initial guidance on what should be covered.  I would ask all the Brethren to provide ideas of topics they think should be included.  We will discuss this at the regular business meeting on April 6th.  I look forward to seeing you all in Lodge.

Worshipful Master

by Betty Langenberg

Brother, is there something between you and me?
The east is glowing in a golden candlelight,
we listen to Mozart, and think in different languages,
Yet, I understand you, as you understand me.

I don't know your place in your society,
I do not know to which God you daily pray,
There must be thousands things that separates you and I.
Brother, is there something between you and me?

You make the sign and know the word.
I know you now,
although you live under a different sky;
You are my brother, seated next to me.

Brother is there something between you and me?
Between us, in the chain, the secret lives.
I heard your heart, as you heard mine,
and from countless miles, we recognize.
