Tidings from the East
Grand Master Jerry Everett and the Grand Lodge Officers will visit Unity Lodge #18 on Wednesday, April 1st. Lodge will open at 6:00 pm, Dinner will be served at 6:30 pm, reconvene for Business at 7:30 with the Reception of the Grand Master to follow.
I hope this News and Trestle Board finds everyone well.
March was a busy month at Unity Lodge #18, with two brothers being raised to the sublime Degree of Master Mason and another initiated as an Entered Apprentice (EA). We also heard an EA proficiency. Additionally, we held three practices. In recognition of the importance of Masonic Youth as being not only a part of the Masonic family but also the future of Freemasonry, I, together with several of your Lodge Officers attended the meeting of the Ogden Chapter Order of DeMolay on 3 March and the meeting of Job’s Daughters Bethel 2 on 9 March. We had enjoyable evenings at both meetings. I would like to remind all Master practices throughout the month. Worthy of special note is that we will pass two brothers to the Degree of Fellow Craft this month. I would like to encourage as many brothers as possible to attend our 1 April business meeting. Unfortunately, I won’t be able to join you, as I have been called out of town for work but our Senior Warden Denny Wilcox will be sitting in the Oriental Chair in my absence to receive the Grand Lodge and to conduct the meeting. There will be a dinner at 6:30 pm followed by our stated meeting at 7:30 pm. Please make your reservations early with Senior Warden Wilcox so that we will know how many meals to prepare. The meals are being prepared and served by Ogden Chapter DeMolay and they have our sincere thanks for doing this for us. The recommended dress attire for the evening is conservative looking business suits. Let us join together and have a great reception for our visiting Grand Lodge. We will also be observing several of our Brother’s Masonic Birthdays at this meeting, as is our usual practice.
